Australians nominated for 2016 Carnegie, Greenaway medals

Several Australian authors and illustrators have been nominated for the 2016 Carnegie and Kate Greenaway medals, presented by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) in the UK.

Morris Gleitzman’s Soon (Viking) and Garth Nix’s Clariel (A&U) are among the 93 books nominated for the Carnegie Medal, presented to the writer of an outstanding children’s book.

Bob Graham’s How The Sun Got to Coco’s House (Walker Books) is one of 69 books nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal, presented for distinguished illustration in children’s books.

A longlist will be announced on 16 February, a shortlist on 15 March and the winners in June. To view the complete list of titles nominated, click here.
