Besliev appointed CEO of Bonnier Australia

Natasha Besliev has been appointed to the newly created role of CEO of Bonnier Australia, a ‘consolidation’ of the company’s Australian businesses, which includes The Five Mile Press and Echo Publishing.

Besliev has been managing director of Hardie Grant Egmont for the past four years, and has worked for the company for over 10 years.

Bonnier Publishing CEO Richard Johnson described the appointment as ‘a fantastic coup for the group’. ‘Natasha brings a wealth of experience and is a perfect match for our growth plans in Australia. What she has achieved at Hardie Grant Egmont is hugely impressive and this appointment demonstrates Bonnier’s commitment to growing its presence significantly in the Australian market,’ said Johnson.

Besliev said the new role is ‘a great challenge’. ‘The Five Mile Press is a great business and with the help of the team can become one of the top five publishers in Australia,’ she said.

The appointment follows the departure of The Five Mile Press managing director Alexandra Maramenides in July. Acting managing director and publisher Kay Scarlett told Books+Publishing the new CEO role ‘encompasses the former MD position, so we will not be seeking a direct replacement for Alexandra’.
