Feminist Writers Festival line-up announced

The line-up for the inaugural Feminist Writers Festival’s (FWF) networking day, to be held on Friday 26 August at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre in Melbourne, has been announced.

Among the authors taking part in the event are Maxine Beneba Clarke, Anastasia Kanjere, Lian Low, Susan Hawthorne, Emily Maguire, Zoya Patel and Clare Wright. They will be speaking on a range of subjects, from ‘feminist publishing and the politics of personal writing, to building feminist communities and mothering from the fringes’.

Five public events, co‐curated with the Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF), will also be held on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August at Federation Square and Footscray Community Arts Centre. These events will be announced with the MWF program on 20 July.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, FWF was co-founded by academic Cristy Clark and Melbourne Writers Festival program manager and writer Jo Case to ‘bring together feminist writers and readers to connect and strengthen the diverse writing communities that exist around Australia’.
