MWF international authors announced

The Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) has announced the first of its international authors who will appear at the 2016 festival, which runs from 26 August to 4 September.

The line-up includes US novelist Lionel Shriver, author of We Need to Talk About Kevin and, most recently, The Mandibles; British stand-up comedian and author of the memoir Thatcher Stole My Trousers, Alexei Sayle; Occupy movement-artist and memoirist Molly Crabapple; Nobel Peace Prize-winning environmental activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier; author of the ‘Magicians’ fantasy series, Lev Grossman; and US journalists and authors George Packer, Laura Secor and Neil Strauss.

They join previously announced guests British philosopher A C Grayling and US author Angela Flournoy.

The full program of more than 300 guests will be announced on 20 July, with tickets on sale from 22 July.
