SWF’s ‘Russ the Story Bus’ to make first trip to regional NSW

The Sydney Writers Festival’s (SWF) Russ the Story Bus tour will visit regional NSW towns for the first time, as part of SWF’s Children’s Festival of Moving Stories from 31 October to 9 December.

The festival, which includes 30 Australian children’s book authors and illustrators, will visit schools in Bathurst, Orange, Parkes, Dubbo, Mudgee, Maitland and Gosford, as well as Western Sydney.

This year’s line-up of authors and illustrators includes Richard Roxburgh, Jacqueline Harvey, Tony Wilson, Sarah Ayoub and Kate Forsyth.

Shaun Tan has decorated the bus’s exterior with illustrations from his picture book Rules of Summer, while the interior is filled with children’s books and space for students to meet authors and learn to write and read.

The Children’s Festival of Moving Stories was first launched in 2014. For more information, click here.
