Australians shortlisted for Locus Awards

Several Australians have been named as finalists for the Locus Awards for science-fiction and fantasy writing.

Garth Nix is a finalist in the young adult category for his novel Frogkisser! (A&U). Nix was a finalist in the same category last year for Goldenhand (A&U), and in 2015 for Clariel (A&U).

Australian publisher Twelfth Planet Press’ collection of tributes to science-fiction author Octavia E Butler, Luminescent Thread: Connections to Octavia E Butler (ed Alexandra Pierce & Mimi Mondal) is shortlisted in the nonfiction category.

Australian artist Shaun Tan has been nominated in the artist category, and Belfast-born Perth-based writer Jonathan Strahan has been nominated in the editor category.

The winners will be announced during the Locus Awards weekend, which runs from 22-24 June, in Seattle.
