New Kobo devices available in October

Kobo has unveiled three new ereading devices which will be available in Australia and New Zealand before the end of the year.

The new devices—branded the ‘Kobo Family’ along with the Kobo Touch—include: the Kobo Glo, a front-lit, six-inch device with a recommended retail price (RRP) of A$159.99 and NZ$199.99; the Kobo Mini, a five-inch device with a RRP of A$99.99 and NZ$139.99; and the Kobo Arc, a new seven-inch andriod tablet with a RRP of A$249.99 and NZ$329.99 for the 8G model, and A$299.99 and NZ$379.99 for the 16G model.

The Kobo Glo and Kobo Mini will be available in Australia and New Zealand in October, and the Kobo Arc will be available in November.

The new devices will be available from Australian retailers Collins Booksellers, Bookworld, JB HiFi and Officeworks, as well as Harvey Norman and the Good Guys, which have also recently started selling Kobo devices. In New Zealand, the devices will be available from Whitcoulls and stores in the Noel Leeming group. Collins and Whitcoulls will start taking pre-orders for the Kobo Glo this week.
