‘Renniks Australian Pre-Decimal & Decimal Coin Errors’ shortlisted for the 2017 Diagram Prize for Oddest Book Title of the Year

Ian McConnelly’s Renniks Australian Pre-Decimal & Decimal Coin Errors: The Premier Guide for Australian Pre-Decimal & Decimal Coin Errors (Renniks) is one of five books shortlisted for the Bookseller’s Diagram Prize for Oddest Book Title of the Year for 2017.

The Bookseller said Renniks Australian Pre-Decimal & Decimal Coin Errors has ‘echoes of the beloved 1996 winner Greek Rural Postmen and Their Cancellation Numbers’. ‘These are wonderful books for hobby obsessives, although my advice is that, should you see someone reading these books on public transport, stay very far away from them indeed,’ said the Bookseller.

The other titles shortlisted for the award are:

  • An Ape’s View of Human Evolution (Peter Andrews, CUP)
  • The Commuter Pig-Keeper: A Comprehensive Guide to Keeping Pigs when Time is your Most Precious Commodity (Michaela Giles, Old Pond Publishing)
  • Love Your Lady Landscape: Trust Your Gut, Care for ‘Down There’ and Reclaim Your Fierce and Feminine SHE (Lisa Lister, Hay House)
  • Nipples on my Knee (Graham and Debra Robertson, Maple Creek Media).

Voting is open to the public until 21 July, with the winner to be announced on 28 July. For more information on the prize, click here.
