Serong shortlisted for £15,000 Wilbur Smith Adventure Prize

Jock Serong has been shortlisted for the £15,000 (A$28,230) Wilbur Smith Adventure Prize, for his novel Preservation (Text).

Preservation is one of six novels shortlisted for the prize, which celebrates the best adventure novels published between 1 May 2018 and 30 April 2019, by writers of any nationality writing in English. A longlist of twelve was announced earlier this month.

The award’s judging panel comprises journalist Alex Crawford, Zimbabwean cabinet minister Kirsty Coventry, 2018 winner Abir Mukherjee, literary agent Kevin Conroy Scott, The Reading Agency CEO Sue Wilkinson and explorer and writer Levison Wood.

The winner will be awarded at a ceremony on 12 September in London. For more information, click here.
