Run by Writers Victoria in partnership with Arts Access Victoria, the PublishAbility workshop will cover\u00a0best-practice language, the social model of disability, barriers to participation, the case for inclusion beyond compliance, and knowing your organisation\u2019s legal obligations. Monash University associate professor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2018\/06\/21\/109956\/spn-announces-2018-conference-keynote\/\">Rebecca Giblin will give the keynote address<\/a>\u00a0on the research day, addressing \u2018the case for rethinking author contracts\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The trade day on 23 November will feature a panel on podcasting with\u00a0Wavesound acquisitions editor Chiara Priorelli and book podcasters\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2018\/03\/21\/104130\/podcast-spotlight-astrid-edwards-on-the-garret\/\">Astrid Edwards<\/a>\u00a0(The Garret),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2018\/04\/26\/103928\/podcast-spotlight-the-morning-bell\/\">Joel Martin<\/a>\u00a0(the Morning Bell),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2018\/04\/05\/104673\/podcast-spotlight-kill-your-darlings-podcast\/\">Meaghan Dew<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Kill Your Darlings<\/em>\u00a0podcast) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2018\/06\/06\/107524\/podcast-spotlight-pratchat\/\">Elizabeth Flux<\/a>\u00a0(Pratchat).<\/p>\n<p>Chaired by academic Emmett Stinson, the \u2018Publishing in the Age of Trump\u2019 panel will feature Perth-based researcher Per Henningsgaard and trade day keynote speaker\u00a0Danika Isdahl, of Kentucky-based publisher Sarabande Books, discussing the role of US publishers based outside of New York City and their survival in the current US political environment. Isdahl is attending the conference with support from the Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature Office.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2018\/09\/26\/116153\/spn-announces-isdahl-dattner-as-conference-keynotes\/\">previously reported by\u00a0<em>Books+Publishing<\/em><\/a>, other presenters at the conference will include Yvette Holt (First Nations Australia Writers Network), Bianca Whiteley (Nielsen BookScan), Robert Watkins (Hachette), Rebecca Lim (Voices from the Intersection), Michael Gordon-Smith (Australian Publishers Association), Rachel Bin Salleh (Magabala), Glen Jones (Amazon Australia), Jonathan Seifman (Booktopia), Belinda Bolliger (Scholastic), Caitlin Yates (Black Inc.), Shalini Kunahlan (Text Publishing) and Michael Mohammed Ahmad (Sweatshop).
