The new prize was unveiled in December 2018, and aims to \u2018discover new talent and recognise the best self-published titles each year\u2019. In the inaugural year, the award is for adult fiction only, but will expand to include other categories in the future. Entry is restricted to UK-based authors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The shortlisted titles for the inaugural prize are all by women writers. They are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Once Upon a Blue Moon<\/i>\u00a0(Anita Belli)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Smash all the Windows<\/i>\u00a0(Jane Davis)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Tangent<\/i>\u00a0(Caroline Goldsworthy)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>He is Mine<\/i>\u00a0(Mel Gough)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Faith, Hope and Trickery<\/i>\u00a0(Susan Grossey)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>A Spoke in the Wheel<\/i>\u00a0(Kathleen Jowitt)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>In Servitude<\/i>\u00a0(Heleen Kist)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Lady Helena Investigates<\/i>\u00a0(Jane Steen).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The winner of the prize receives \u00a31500 (A$2685), a \u2018bespoke book cover design\u2019 by designer Aimee Coveney and a\u00a0book publicity campaign worth \u00a31000 (A$1790). The winner will be announced at the 2019 London Book Fair in March.
