It is Davis\u2019 eighth novel. The judging panel was \u2018impressed not only with the quality of Davis\u2019 writing, but also with her committed publishing and marketing of the novel\u2019, according to\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookbrunch.co.uk\/page\/corporate\/jane-davis-is-first-selfies-winner\/\">BookBrunch<\/a><\/em>, which administers the award.<\/p>\n<p>Jane Steen was awarded a runner-up certificate for her novel\u00a0<em>Lady Helena\u00a0Investigates<\/em>. Winners were chosen from an all-women\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2019\/02\/06\/122963\/all-women-shortlist-announced-for-inaugural-selfies-awards\/\">shortlist of eight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Davis wins \u00a31500 (A$2685), a \u2018bespoke book cover design\u2019 by designer Aimee Coveney and a book publicity campaign worth \u00a31000 (A$1790). Davis was presented with the award at the 2019 London Book Fair.<\/p>\n<p>In its inaugural year, the award is for adult fiction only, but will expand to include other categories in the future.
