TikTok, Netflix helps drive Aus bestseller charts<\/strong><\/p>\n

Data from industry monitoring group Nielsen BookData shows Australian book sales were up 4.1% in the year to 18 June.<\/p>\n

The uptick in sales was driven by a 77% jump in romance titles sales, led in large part by Colleen Hoover\u2019s bestselling It Ends with Us <\/em>and Ugly Love<\/em>. According to Nielsen BookData Australia territory manager Bianca Whiteley, the romance category\u2014including Hoover\u2019s titles\u2014were \u2018heavily driven by TikTok\u2019, while in children\u2019s books, the Netflix adaptation of Alice Oseman\u2019s \u2018Heartstopper\u2019 series helped push the titles to bestseller status.<\/p>\n

In other categories, manga was up 27% and adult fiction was up 17.3%.<\/p>\n

        PRH, S&S antitrust trial wraps up<\/strong><\/p>\n
