Indigenous Literacy Day - An early childhood and primary school interactive, educational event – 2pm
Join ILF for a special 30-minute virtual celebration of Indigenous language and literacy to engage, inspire and delight preschool to primary students.
It’s a time to move, shake and dance with a book reading in Kriol by Cheryl Lardy and in English by Justine Clarke. Plus Australia’s favourite popstar, Jessica Mauboy will sing a catchy melody with children from Tiwi and Jilkminggan remote communities in languages. Hosted by acclaimed Indigenous author and performer Gregg Dreise.
Subscribe now to ILF’s YouTube channel at 2pm on the day and enjoy. Children are encouraged to donate a gold coin on the day of viewing. Funds go towards the purchase of books and learning resources for children in remote communities.
To stay up to date with our Indigenous Literacy Day celebrations, follow ILF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and LinkedIn or visit our website. ILF also has resources available to promote the event to your school community.
