HarperCollins welcomes Libby O’Donnell as International Rights Manager x

HarperCollins Publishing Director Shona Martyn is pleased to announce that Libby O’Donnell is joining HarperCollins as International Rights Manager, replacing Hollie Zondanos who is off to run a Canadian fishing lodge.

Libby has worked at the Australian Publishers’ Association in a number of roles – most recently as Manager – Schools Education Publishing and Children’s Book Publishing. Indeed she has just returned from the Bologna Book Fair where she was overseeing an ongoing rights-based exhibition showcasing children’s illustrated fiction. In 2011 she received the Pixie Harris Award for Distinguished and Dedicated Service to the Development of Children’s Literature. She has also initiated promotion of Australian books in countries as diverse as Croatia and South Korea and attended the London and Tokyo Bookfairs.  In her past life, she has been a bookseller as well as an editor in several Japanese publishing houses.

‘I am thrilled that Libby has accepted this role,’ said Shona Martyn. ‘Her diverse experience in the publishing industry both here and overseas and her passion for Australian books make her an ideal advocate for our authors.’

Libby starts in her new role on 30 April.
