PacStream management to revert to B2Be x

From the 1st January 2014 the distribution agreement held by Thorpe-Bowker to manage the PacStream e-commerce service in the publishing space will cease, with management reverting to the owners, B2Be. B2Be has been providing e-Commerce based products and services since the late 90’s. Present customers operate in a broad spectrum of vertical and horizontal based industries such as FMCG, Automotive, Electrical, Industrial, Hardware and Office Products. The only noticeable change to users will be invoicing from the 1st January will be carried out by B2Be. Thorpe-Bowker will retain responsibility for debt collection for all invoices raised up to the 31st December 2013. Customer support remains the same, with Thorpe-Bowker and B2Be working closely together to ensure both a smooth transition for all users of the service and a close working relationship to continue delivering industry services where there remains a mutual interest, such as ‘Title Page’.

At this stage support numbers and email contacts will remain the same. There may be further adjustment over time but service users will be kept fully informed, with advance notice of any planned changes.

Macmillan Science and Education x

Palgrave Macmillan would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and agency partners for the many productive years we have enjoyed working with our agency lists. From 1 April 2014, under our new name Macmillan Science and Education, our focus turns to our own Group lists. As they are primarily focused on publishing for the higher education and scholarly sector, regretfully, we also farewell our trade sales and marketing colleagues.

Reader’s Feast Bookstore: looking for events in 2014 x

Reader’s Feast Bookstore in Melbourne – your perfect literary event partner – is now looking for events for our 2014 calendar. Our expert team has been the official bookseller for many of Melbourne’s biggest literary events and was the instigator of such events as Writers at Como and Writers at the Convent. We currently stage the highly successful event, Crime and Justice, each year.

We offer an in-store event option where our infrastructure includes full staging and A-V support, seating for 180 people, and a heavy investment in advertising and marketing. Reader’s Feast is a beautiful setting as we are located in the iconic Georges building on Collins Street and audiences appreciate the spectacular surroundings and history-laden atmosphere. We also undertake off-site specialised events at such venues as the Collins Street Baptist Church which we use for events where the audience numbers exceed 400, and the Stamford Plaza Hotel where we host culinary and cook book events. Other event formats are available and can be tailored to suit your needs in site-specific venues that match the author and their genre or latest release.

Reader’s Feast is widely acknowledged as the number one choice for well managed, successful literary events in Melbourne. We would be happy to discuss your proposals for the coming year.

All enquiries and event proposals should be directed to events@readersfeast.com.au
