ILF thanks publishers x

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation would like to thank all publishers who submitted books last year. Your submissions went before our Book Selection Committee who had the challenging job of choosing around 100 books from the hundreds of quality books submitted. These books will make up our Book Packs that go out to remote and isolated communities in 2014. Without your support it would not have been possible. Successful publishers have been notified.

 

Bloomsbury Publishing now distributing Verso Books x

Effective 1 January, Bloomsbury Publishing has commenced the distribution of Verso Books. Returns of Verso titles will be accepted by MDS until 28 February. No returns invoiced by Macmillan/MDS will be accepted by Bloomsbury/UBD. Backorders held by Macmillan have been transferred to Bloomsbury from 1 January.

Call for Entries: 2014 National Biography Award x

The State Library of NSW invites entries for the 2014 National Biography Award.

The National Biography Award was established to encourage the highest standards of writing in the fields of biography and autobiography and to promote public interest in these genres.

The award is administered and presented by the State Library of NSW on behalf of the award’s benefactors, Dr Geoffrey Cains and Mr Michael Crouch AO. In 2012, the total prize value was increased to $31,000 – $25,000 for the winner and $1,000 each for shortlisted authors – making it the richest national prize dedicated to Australian biographical writing and memoir.

Entries close Friday 17 January 2014

The 2014 winner will be announced at the State Library of NSW in August 2014
