Maureen Quinn appointed as Collection Development Manager at YBP x

Maureen Quinn has been appointed as Collection Development Manager at YBP Library Services.

Maureen will be supporting and developing the relationships for YBP and James Bennett Academic customers in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, NT, and New Zealand.

Maureen was a former Sales Manager at Innovative, and before that as a  Sales Manager at Ingram for Coutts.  Prior to that Maureen has worked with other content and system suppliers and has an extensive history in the Library Industry managing a number of special and academic libraries.

Ruza Obradovic Sales Director for YBP said ‘We are very excited to have Maureen join the YBP team, Maureen’s passion for the Library Industry and her deep knowledge of ebook and print book supply and workflow’, made her the standout candidate for the role.

Watkins Promoted, Hamley to Hachette x

Hachette Australia is pleased to announce two exciting changes to its commissioning team.

Effective immediately, Robert Watkins has been promoted to Non-Fiction Publisher. Currently Commissioning Editor for our lifestyle list, Robert has made a huge impact in a short space of time in growing our presence in the illustrated non-fiction market with authors including Julie Goodwin, Steve (Commando) Willis, Luke Hines & Scott Gooding, Karl Stefanovic, Samantha Armytage and Nikki Parkinson. He has also shown his literary acumen by signing critically acclaimed author Maxine Beneba Clarke and will continue to publish select fiction titles. Congratulations to Robert!

In addition to this, we’re thrilled to announce that Sophie Hamley will join the Australian publishing team on the 20th October as Non-Fiction Publisher. Hamley, who has been an agent for the last eight years, and has contributed to many industry programs over the years, will primarily acquire narrative non-fiction including biography, memoir, music and pop culture.

Sophie Hamley said: ‘I am delighted to be joining the wonderful team of passionate people at Hachette and to have the opportunity to work on such an outstanding list of Australian books.’
