Bloomsbury Australia, on behalf of OneWorld Publications congratulates Jamaican novelist Marlon James on winning the 2015 Man Booker Prize for A Brief History of Seven Killings.
Michael Wood, chair of the judges, described A Brief History of Seven Killings as the ‘most exciting’ book on the shortlist.
Set across three decades, the novel uses the true story of the attempt on the life of reggae star Bob Marley to explore the turbulent world of Jamaican gangs and politics.
Wood said the judges had come to a unanimous decision in less than two hours.
Stock of A Brief History of Seven Killings (ISBN 9781780746357) will be back in stock at United Book Distributors on Friday 16 October.

Alliance Distribution Services wishes to advise the following changes which will assist customers in maximising opportunities in the period leading up to Christmas.
- ADS will reduce our normal minimum order value to $175 rrp from Monday 30 November until Monday 21st December. This will enable customers to have their orders despatched prior to Christmas without needing to reach the higher minimum.
- ADS will expand our customer service department hours to open from 7.30am AEDT to 5.30pm AEDT weekdays for the same period. Further extensions of service may be added should activity demand.
- ADS has already commenced an additional daily picking shift to ensure orders are despatched to enable us to maintain our usual high average daily turnaround throughout this busy period.
The ADS Customer Service and warehouse operations will be open on all days throughout the Christmas and New Year period other than public holidays.

An information session for those considering applying for admission into RMIT University’s new Master of Writing & Publishing – which launches in 2016 and incorporates the well-established and APA-accredited Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing – will be held on Tuesday 20 October at RMIT’s city campus: Building 80, 445 Swanston Street. Following a general welcome at 5.30 pm there will be a Master of Writing & Publishing presentation in room 80.9.01 at 6 pm and the opportunity to meet program manager Tracy O’Shaughnessy over drinks.
