‘If we keep doing what we do well, always looking for ways to do it better, we provide an experience that cannot be replicated by Amazon’—ABA chief executive Joel Becker paraphrases Waterstones MD James Daunt, one of the keynote speakers this year’s ABA conference
Working Title Press (WTP) and HarperCollins Publishers Australia (HCP) announce that from 1st July 2017, distribution of WTP titles in Australia and New Zealand will move to Harper Entertainment Distribution Services [HEDS], a division of HCP.
As from 1st July, 2017, all orders for Working Title Press titles will be supplied by HEDS.
New Release Titles—August onwards
Orders for August New Release titles should be sent to UBD. These orders will be supplied by HEDS, with transfer arranged automatically from UBD to HEDS.
Booksellers who wish to receive delivery by HEDS August in-store date of Monday 24th July will need to have their order to UBD by Friday 30th June.
EDI orders can still be transmitted to UBD up until 30th June for collation and transfer to HEDS. After 1st July all EDI orders must be transmitted to HEDS. All non EDI customer orders for September and later releases are to be sent to HEDS.
All backlist orders as from 1st July are to be sent to HEDS. The flow of all EDI orders will be switched over from UBD to HEDS to facilitate this. Customers should cease using UBD’s SAN and start using HCP’s SAN which is 9000453. After the 1st July changeover, UBD will redirect customers placing phone, fax, and email orders to HEDS.
We ask booksellers to be aware of the below key cut-off dates and plan their returns accordingly, as HEDS will not accept returns for books invoiced by UBD.
Returns for books invoiced by UBD must be processed by UBD. Requests to return WTP titles must be sent to UBD by Friday 28th July.
UBD will not process any returns after Monday 14th August, so please don’t delay in sending your returns once authorised. Books received by UBD too late for processing and/or sent to UBD without an RA will be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.
HEDS will not accept returns which were not invoiced by HEDS. These will be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.

Once Upon A Hume takes the reader on a journey down the ‘Great South Road’, personality by personality, rather than place by place.
Anecdotal, informative, and chatty, it peoples the Hume Highway landscape with vivid characters and occurrences from long ago, profiles prominences, explains place-names, and makes an absorbing panorama of the passing show. We start at Leppington, and take a break at Mittagong.
The first of several volumes about folks who dwelt Once Upon A Hume.
