Simon & Schuster now distributing Manuscript

Simon & Schuster Australia is pleased to announce a new sales and distribution partnership with Manuscript, publisher of visual arts, culture, design, and fashion books.

Manuscript was established in Australia by Mitchell Oakley Smith as a broadsheet newspaper in 2011 and became a glossy magazine in 2016. They will now move into book publishing, launching with two books in November.

The first book will be the first major monograph of internationally renowned contemporary Australian artist Michael Zavros. The second book is an iconic representation of the punk movement by artist Liz Ham called Punk Girls.

‘As we grow our presence from magazine to high-quality illustrated books in this new era of Manuscript Publishing, finding the right partner was key to the success of our program,’ said Mitchell Oakley Smith, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Manuscript.

‘Simon & Schuster is not only superior in the industry, but its team perfectly complements our own and brings an enthusiasm and expertise that will help us to craft beautiful books.’

Dan Ruffino, Managing Director of Simon and Schuster Australia said: ‘Manuscript will hold a very unique place on our list and we’re proud to support Mitchell’s sophisticated and cutting edge list.’
