Allen & Unwin has acquired ANZ rights to YA fantasy novel Four Dead Queens by Australian author Astrid Scholte. A&U will publish simultaneously with the United States, where Four Dead Queens will be released by PRH. International buzz is already building and this debut heralds the arrival of an exciting new YA talent.
Four Dead Queens will be published on 1 March 2019. This standalone novel features a teenage thief who discovers all four of her nation’s queens have been brutally murdered. She teams up with the messenger she stole from to figure out who did it.
Publisher Jodie Webster says: ‘Astrid is a wonderful new talent on the Australian YA scene and we are delighted to welcome her to Allen & Unwin. I am thrilled to be publishing her debut fantasy novel, Four Dead Queens, which has a brilliant premise, dynamic characters, cinematic world-building and an electrifying plot full of tension and suspense.’
