In awards news, the Australian Booksellers Association announced the shortlists for the 2022 Booksellers’ Choice Book of the Year Awards; local writers Sarah Walker, Eleanor Kirk and Shelley Burne-Field are among the finalists for the 2022 Commonwealth Short Story Prize in the Pacific category; and Australian authors Jacqueline Bublitz and Peter Papathanasiou have been longlisted for the UK Crime Writers’ Association 2022 Dagger Awards.
The Wheeler Centre announced the 21 recipients of the 2022 Hot Desk fellowships, returning after a ‘Covid-induced hiatus’ in 2021. Meanwhile, Australian Poetry named Audrey Molloy’s The Important Things (Gallery Press) as the winner of the 2021 Anne Elder Award.
