Affirm Press, Varuna launch new mentorship award

Affirm Press and Varuna, the Writers’ House, have announced a new publisher partnership.

The Affirm Press Mentorship Award offers up to four local writers at any stage of their career the chance to work with its publishing team during a week-long residence at Varuna, with the aim of developing each writer’s manuscript to a publishable standard. Affirm will have first right of acceptance for the manuscript following the mentorship period.

Applicants are asked to submit a well-developed manuscript that fits within ‘a broad spectrum of literary and popular fiction’, excluding works of fantasy, science-fiction, romance, YA and junior, drama scripts and poetry.

Applications close on 15 June. For more information, visit the Varuna website here.
