Review submissions

Books+Publishing publishes pre-publication reviews of Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand originated titles.

Eligibility criteria

For your book to be considered for review it must meet the following criteria:

• It must be written by an Australian or Aotearoa New Zealand author or first published in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand (translated books will be considered if they are first published in English in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand).
• It must be submitted to us at least three months prior to publication.
• We do not review self-published titles.

There is no guarantee that your book will be reviewed.

Posting titles

We are only reviewing digital manuscripts.

Please send PDFs or EPUB files to reviews@booksandpublishing.com.au along with an AI/TI sheet and cover image.

Please refrain from printing out and posting unbound A4 manuscripts.

Permissions and copyright

Please note that reviews cannot be reproduced in full without our permission.

The copyright of the review text remains the property of the reviewer. However, Books+Publishing retains the sole and exclusive right to publish the review, in any publication that it may choose, including platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Books+Publishing has also partnered with ProQuest Syndetics and Google Books to publish the reviews on their services.

Quoting reviews and citation

Publishers and authors may quote from reviews in promotional material by citing Books+Publishing as the source.

Please don’t cite the old names of the publication, such as Australian Bookseller & Publisher or Bookseller+Publisher.
