Lonely Planet launches cookbook series

Lonely Planet has launched a series of ‘destination’ cookbooks called ‘From the Source’.

The publisher will release the first two cookbooks in August—From the Source: Italy and From the Source: Thailand—and is aiming to publishing two new titles each year.

Lonely Planet has previously published a small number of one-off food titles, including World’s Best Street Food and Food Lover’s Guide to the World.

Lonely Planet’s Asia-Pacific sales and marketing director Chris Zeiher told Books+Publishing that the series ‘is a fantastic advancement in our food publishing which leads readers, cooks and food lovers alike directly to the source of a destination’s unique food experiences’.

‘Lonely Planet is able to take you into the kitchens of the best local cooks who share their family recipes and cooking secrets where we’ve been able to capture that unique travel-food experience we know travellers seek out when they’re in destination.’
