Bray to head up Better Reading Kids

Book recommendation site Better Reading is launching a children’s offshoot, headed up by former Allen & Unwin (A&U) children’s book director Liz Bray.

Better Reading Kids will offer children’s reading recommendations and advice to parents, teachers and librarians, and will include curated book lists, children’s bestseller charts, author Q&As and articles on topical issues.

Better Reading director Cheryl Akle said the new site responds to a demand from Better Reading’s audience for advice on children’s books. ‘Better Reading’s audience is largely female and many of them are mums, who value and enjoy reading and want to share that joy with their kids,’ said Akle.

The site will be managed by Liz Bray, who has been appointed Better Reading’s children’s specialist. Bray resigned as A&U children’s book director in mid-2014.

Better Reading Kids launches on the Better Reading website on 13 July and has its own dedicated Facebook page here. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Better Reading first launched in November 2014.
