PANZ announces Yale Publishing Course scholarship

The Publishers Association of New Zealand (PANZ) has announced the formation of the inaugural W E and M L Forde Publishing Scholarship to the Yale Publishing Course.

The scholarship is named in honour of Margaret and Ted Forde, who worked for William Collins & Sons from the late 1950s. Margaret left a legacy to fund the scholarship for four years, beginning in 2016.

The NZ$13,000 (A$11,740) scholarship will be given to one publisher to attend the Yale Publishing Course, held annually at Yale University in the US in mid-July. The week-long course is designed for mid- to senior-level book professionals, covering management, editorial, business development and digital strategy, among other topics.

Applications are open to PANZ members who have been involved in the New Zealand publishing industry for at least 12 months, with priority given to New Zealand-based independent publishers. For more information about the Yale Publishing Course, click here.
