Costa Book Award 2015 category winners announced

In the UK, the Costa Book Award 2015 category winners have been announced. The winners are: A God in Ruins (Kate Atkinson, Doubleday) in the novel category; The Loney (Andrew Michael Hurley, John Murray) in the first novel category; The Invention of Nature: The Adventures of Alexander Von Humboldt, The Lost Hero of Science (Andrea Wulf, John Murray) in the biography category; 40 Sonnets (Don Paterson, Faber) in the poetry category; and The Lie Tree (Frances Hardinge, Macmillan) in the children’s book category. The category winners each receive £5000 (A$10,363) and go into the running for the overall Costa Book of the Year Award, worth £30,000 (A$62,177), to be announced on 26 January.
