Clan Destine Press acquires Gordon Thompson novel

Clan Destine Press has acquired the world rights to Kill Will: Nightbird in Sunlight by Gordon Thompson.

According to the publisher, Kill Will: Nightbird in Sunlight follows as ‘a young William Shakespeare falls through a portal into present day London, accompanied by Juliet, Cleopatra, Viola and Lady Macbeth’. They must ensure Will writes his plays and stays safe from the ‘dark forces of Morgana LeFay, the fascist Sons of Mordred, and UK Border Force’.

Based in Melbourne, Thompson is publisher at Clouds of Magellan Press and is the author of Scheherazade and The Amber Necklace.

Discussing his new work, Thompson said: ‘Kill Will: Night Bird in Sunlight is a fantasy adventure with steampunk overtones in a William Shakespeare Extended Universe. Think Philip K Dick meets A Midsummer Night’s Dream – with druids.’

Clan Destine Press publisher Lindy Cameron said: ‘The fabulous notion that his trip to the future has weirdly manifested his future female creations as flesh and blood women, and it is they who must save the day, is just delicious.’

Clan Destine Press plans to release Kill Will: Nightbird in Sunlight in August 2025.
