Stella Day Out announces Canberra program
Stella has announced a date and full program for its upcoming Stella Day Out event in Canberra.
Stella Day Out is a free one-day literary festival that ‘celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature’. The Canberra iteration will run on Saturday 2 August at Harry Hartog on the Australian National University campus.
Among the sessions announced, Cher Tan is set to discuss her Stella-longlisted essay collection Peripathetic (NewSouth) with author Zoya Patel (Once a Stranger, No-Country Woman (both Hachette)); and 2025 Stella-shortlisted author Jumaana Abdu will discuss her debut novel, Translations (Vintage), with critic Beejay Silcox.
Stella Day Out events also recently took place in Warrnambool and Adelaide, while August events are also planned for Sydney and Darwin. Programs are released individually.
More information about the Canberra program is available on the Stella website.
