UNESCO Cities of Literature Fellowship announced
The Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature Office has announced a new $15,000 fellowship for researchers, writers, artists and creative practitioners from other UNESCO Cities of Literature.
The fellowship is part of a broader fellowships program based at the State Library Victoria (SLV).
According to the Melbourne office, the fellowship “aims to strengthen Melbourne’s standing as a UNESCO City of Literature, foster interdisciplinary creative practice and research, promote exchange between Melbourne and other Cities of Literature globally, and showcase the State Library and its collections internationally.”
The fellowship offers a $15,000 stipend as well as a dedicated desk at the library for up to 3 months, with access to collections and staff expertise, and return economy flights to and from Melbourne. The Melbourne City of Literature office will help locate accommodation, but the cost is the fellow’s own responsibility.
Expressions of interest close on 7 April. More information is available on the SLV website.
