Text acquires MacFie’s debut novel
Text Publishing has acquired world rights to Stephanie MacFie’s debut novel Once Upon a Breakfast Show.
Set in the high-pressure world of breakfast radio, this “funny and wise novel about love and second chances” was acquired from the author direct, said the publisher.
Editor Jane Pearson said the pages “turn themselves in Stephanie MacFie’s warm-hearted rom-com”, and promised “breakfast-radio chaotic glamour and a touch of deliciously spicy spice”.
MacFie said, “Once Upon a Breakfast Show draws on the 15 years I spent working in commercial radio. I loved writing the chemistry behind the microphone and delving into the lives that unfold off air, and of course the second-chance love story.”
NSW Central Coast–based author MacFie has managed breakfast radio shows and podcasts over the past 15 years as well as working as a voice-over artist and audiobook narrator.
Once Upon a Breakfast Show is scheduled for release in August 2026.
