Bestsellers this week
The bestsellers chart has a new number one this week, with Paula Hawkins’ debut thriller The Girl on the Train (Doubleday) claiming the top spot for the first time after nine consecutive weeks in the top 10. The rest of the top 10 is largely unchanged from last week, with the film tie-in for The Longest Ride (Nicholas Sparks, Hachette) the only new title in 10th spot. Fantasy title The Skull Throne (Peter V Brett, HarperCollins) is this week’s highest new entry, while the fastest mover, The Pointless Book 2 (Alfie Deyes, The File Mile Press), continues the recent trend for activity books for adults. The lead-up to Anzac Day has also pushed Lest We Forget (Kerry Brown, ABC Books), a children’s picture book that tackles the subject of the Gallipoli landings, into the fastest mover charts—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 4 April 2015)
