Berkelouw Leichhardt in talks to move
Berkelouw Books Leichhardt has announced the business is in talks with the store’s landlord to move, rather than closing down as previously announced.
In an Instagram post, the store said it would be operating on a week-to-week basis, with a plan to close on 24 May, which is subject to change.
“Thank you all for your patience with this debacle. It has been as much of an emotional rollercoaster for us as we imagine it has been for you.”
As previously reported, the store had said it would close on 10 May, with the proposed closure coming “amid an unresolved industrial dispute, a contested workplace agreement, and ongoing legal action involving workers and the Retail and Fast Food Workers Union,” according to SmartCompany.
