RIP Elaine Koster

Elaine Koster, the publisher and literary agent who discovered Stephen King, has died aged 69. As publisher of the New American Library in the 1970s, Koster paid $400,000 for the rights to Carrie by the then-unknown Stephen King. She also accepted Khaled Hosseini's manuscript for The Kite Runner.
