SWF 2011: Chinese author denied permission to attend, events cancelled

The Sydney Writers' Festival (SWF) has announced that Chinese author Liao Yiwu has been denied permission to leave China to attend this year's festival for 'security reasons'. Liao has also been 'advised' by the Chinese government not to continue to publish his work in international markets. This news follows a similar incident...
