RiP William Gay

William Gay, author of Long Home and The Lost Country, has died aged 68. William Gay, born in Tennessee, has been described by some as the most powerful and authentic voice of Southern American literature. In 1999, Gay's The Long Home won the James A. Michener Memorial prize.
