Booktopia wins Telstra NSW people’s choice award

Online Australian bookseller Booktopia has won the People’s Choice Award at this year’s Telstra NSW Business Awards.

The award, which is open to all entrants in the 2012 awards, was decided by a public vote. As the winner of the NSW award, Booktopia will be in the running against the category winners from other states and territories for the national award, to be announced at the Telstra Australian Business Awards in Sydney on 29 August. Booktopia was also in the running for the NSW medium-sized business award, which went to restaurateur and cookbook author Luke Nguyen, owner of Red Lantern in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

Winners of the overall 2012 awards receive ‘a share of $500,000 in cash and prizes’. See www.telstrabusinessawards.com for more information.
