BWF kicks off

The Brisbane Writers Festival (BWF) kicks off today, following the presentation of the Queensland Literary Awards last night. The festival runs from 5 to 9 September and includes and ‘all night party’ to celebrate the festival’s 50th birthday. International guests attending this year’s event include Chris Cleave, Patrick Gale, Germaine Greer and Richard Holloway among many others. This year’s festival will be the last for director Jane O’Hara, with Kate Eltham taking over the role for the 2013 event.
