UK Bridport Prize shortlist annnounced

The Bridport Prize, the UK writing competition open to all nationalities, has announced a shorlist.

The mission of the Bridport Prize is ‘to encourage emerging writers and promote literary excellence through its competition structure’.

The poem and short story categories each have a first prize of £5000 (approximately A$7700), second prize £1000 (A$1700) and third prize £500 (A$770). An additional 10 supplementary prizes (for each category) of £50 (A$77) each are awarded.

The category for flash fiction with a prize of £1,000 (A$1700) was launched in 2010. There is a second prize of £500 (A$770), 3rd prize of £250 (A$390) and 3 supplementary prizes of £25 (A$39).
