Carmody appointed NZ arts festival’s writers week program manager

Kathryn Carmody has been appointed as program manager of the 2014 New Zealand International Arts Festival Writers and Readers Week. Carmody is a publicist and former bookseller at Capital Books and Unity Books in Wellington. ‘Most recently she has been working with non-fiction and children’s book authors published by Craig Potton Publishing and Te Papa Press, and on events with Creative New Zealand and the Department of Internal Affairs,’ reports Booksellers New Zealand. ‘She is also heavily involved with the literary journal New Zealand Books: A Quarterly Review, and has strong ties to the Randell Cottage Writers Residency and the BNZ Literary Awards.’ Carmody takes up the role on 28 January 2013. The festival will run from 21 February to 16 March 2014.
