Booksellers to participate in Westfield ‘Super Saturday’ promotion

Booksellers located within Westfield shopping centres across the country will be among the retailers offering special deals to shoppers on Saturday 1 December as part of the Westfield ‘Super Saturday’ event.

All ABC Shops located in Westfield centres are offering a 10% discount to customers who spend $50 or more in one transaction, while Australia Post shops will offer 10% off books.

Dymocks stores in Chatswood, New South Wales, Knox in Melbourne and Carousel (Cannington) in Western Australia are participating in the one-day event. At Dymocks Chatswood, shoppers will receive 15% off all full-priced children’s books, while Dymocks Knox will offer 20% off all full-priced books for the day. At Westfield Carousel, authors Matthew Mitcham (Twists and Turns, HarperCollins) and Karl Kruszelnicki (50 Shades of Grey Matter, Pan Macmillan) will be signing their books, and shoppers will be offered a $5 discount on Mitcham’s book.

NSW independent bookseller Unleash Books is offering 20% off all children’s books at its stores in the Westfield centres at Bondi Junction and Kotara, and author Peter Fitzsimons will be signing copies of his latest book Eureka: The Unfinished Revolution  (Random House) at the Unleash store at Westfield Miranda.

QBD stores, including those located in Westfield centres in Doncaster and Fountain Gate in Melbourne, Chatswood and Kotara in NSW, and Chermside and Carindale in Queensland, are offering a 10% discount on selected children’s activity books.

Westfield said its ‘Super Saturday’ event is its way of launching ‘the official Christmas countdown’. Entertainment and gift wrapping will be offered in all of the centres, and shoppers will have the opportunity to enter into prize draws to win Westfield gift vouchers.
