BWF launches creative collaboration project

The Brisbane Writers Festival (BWF) is calling for submissions from creative organisations and networks to run collaborative events during the 2013 festival.

The ampers&nd project is aimed at organisations such as writers groups, small presses, student collectives, performers and artists, rather than individuals, and is designed to ‘augment the festival’s diverse program of events and to showcase the work of specific literary communities and sub-cultures in Queensland’.

The project is open to a broad range of events, including performances, exhibitions and installations. ‘We encourage proposals celebrating any facet of writing and storytelling, including fiction and poetry, journalism, illustration and graphic narrative, screen and performance writing, games, spoken word and cross‐media productions,’ said the festival in a statement on its website.

The festival will offer successful partners a venue and technical and logistical support, as well as inclusion in the festival program guide and marketing campaigns. Successful partners will be responsible for remuneration for artists and performers, including travel and accommodation expenses.

Submission forms are available on the BWF website. The deadline for submissions is 17 December.

The 2013 Brisbane Writers Festival runs from 4-8 September. As previously reported by Bookseller+Publisher, it will be the first festival under new director Kate Eltham.
