Conspiracy 365: Black Ops #1: Missing (Gabrielle Lord, Scholastic)
Callum Ormond just can’t stay out of trouble. He has barely had time to catch his breath following the year-long adventure chronicled in the ‘Conspiracy 365’ series, when he finds himself cast headlong into another amazing adventure. Cal’s twin brother Ryan has disappeared from home, leaving a cryptic note about having ‘made some really good new friends’ and ‘being in touch soon’. Before he can get a handle on where Ryan might be, Cal is abducted by a shadowy agency who want to send him undercover to investigate the Paradise People Resort, a secretive island paradise that invites teenagers to stay for free. Strange stories are circulating about unusual goings on behind the scenes: guests vanishing and ex-staff who refuse to talk. Cal accepts the mission, hoping that Ryan might be there, and parachutes on to Shadow Island under cover of darkness. What will he discover? Gabrielle Lord returns to her immensely popular ‘Conspiracy 365’ world with this new spin-off series, with Cal and his friends plunged straight back into non-stop action and adventure. Fans of the original series will not be disappointed, and the cliffhanger ending is a nail-biter.
