The program for this year’s Australian Festival of Travel Writing, to be held in Melbourne from 22-24 March, has been announced. This year’s festival will kick off on Friday 22 March at the University of Melbourne with a free gala night of authors telling ‘tall tales and true stories’ from their travels. Among the guests at this year’s festival are Lonely Planet co-founder and part owner of Text Publishing Tony Wheeler, Transit Lounge co-publisher Tess Rice, Daily Telegraph journalist Joe Hildebrand and authors Rolf Potts, Michelle Aung Thin, Chris Taylor, Patrick Holland, Amy Espeseth and Brian Thacker. The Readings store at the Melbourne Brain Centre is the official bookseller for the festival, with most of the festival sessions being held in the same building.
