Oz, NZ authors and illustrators on 2013 White Ravens list

Australian and New Zealand authors and illustrators are among those who have been acknowledged on the 2013 White Ravens list for international children’s and youth literature.

The following Australian authors and illustrators feature on the 2013 list:

  • Terri Rose Baynton (Mr Bear Branches and the Cloud Conundrum, ABC Books)
  • Paul Collins (ed) & Judith Ridge (intro) (Trust Me Too, Ford Street)
  • James Foley (In the Lion, Walker Books)
  • Ambelin Kwaymullina (The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf, Walker Books)
  • Alison Lester (Sophie Scott Goes South, Viking)
  • Chris McKimmie (Alex and the Watermelon Boat, A&U)
  • Sue McPherson (Grace Beside Me, Magabala Books)
  • Jaclyn Moriarty (A Corner of White, Macmillan) 
  • Louis Nowra (Into that Forest, A&U)
  • James Roy (City, UQP).

 

The following New Zealand authors and illustrators feature on the 2013 list:

  • Jack Lasenby (Uncle Trev and His Whistling Bull, Gecko Press)
  • Margaret Mahy, Tessa Duder (ed) & David Elliot (The Word Witch, HarperCollins)
  • Kyle Mewburn, Ali Teo & John O’Reilly (Melu, Scholastic).

 

This year’s collection contains 250 titles in over 30 languages from 50 countries. The White Ravens list is produced each year by the International Youth Library in Germany and is announced at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The complete list for 2013 can be found here.
