‘Fifty Shades Freed’ tops Travelodge ‘most discarded books’ list
The third book in E L James’ ‘Fifty Shades’ trilogy has topped the annual list of books most likely to be left at a Travelodge hotel with 1209 abandoned copies, reports the Guardian. The top five titles on the list, which is dominated by erotic fiction, are: Fifty Shades Freed (E L James, Arrow), Bared to You (Sylvia Day, Penguin), The Marriage Bargain (Jennifer Probst, Entangled Publishing), Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn, Orion) and The Casual Vacancy (J K Rowling, Little, Brown). A total of 22,648 books were left in Travelodge hotels over the past 12 months, with the top three reasons for abandoning books reported as: ‘finished reading it and left it for others’, ‘genuinely lost or forgot it’ and ‘got bored’.
