Swingler to feature on ‘Australian Story’

Susan Swingler, step-daughter of Australian author Elizabeth Jolley and author of the memoir The House of Fiction (Fremantle Press), will feature on next week’s episode of ABC TV’s Australian Story on Monday 28 October.

In her memoir, Swingler writes about how she was abandoned by her father Leonard at the age of four, before being found by the Jolley family at the age of 21. The Australian Story program, ‘Letters from Elizabeth’, tells Swingler’s story and contains previously unpublished love letters between Elizabeth Jolley and Leonard.

Authors Robert Hoge and Hannah Kent have also featured on Australia Story this year to discuss the stories behind their books. You can watch Hoge’s episode here and Kent’s episode here.
