The first book in John Flanagan’s ‘Ranger’s Apprentice’ series, The Ruins of Gorlan (Random House, published in the US by Puffin), has been chosen for next year’s World Book Night in the US.

The YA fantasy novel is one of 33 titles that will be distributed across the US on 23 April 2014. In total, half a million special editions of the books will be distributed by 25,000 volunteers to people in their communities who don’t regularly read.
